‘Another flex’: Fans react to jersey Lionel Messi will wear in final game for Argentina
Lionel Messi is set to play his final game for Argentina during the current international break.
After making it to the final of the 2026 World Cup and losing to Spain, Messi has now confirmed that he is retiring from international football.
However, before he officially hangs up his boots, the 39-year-old is due to play one final game for his country, facing off with Benin on October 6.
Now, ahead of that tie, Messi has revealed that he will be wearing a special jersey for his send-off match.

As shared by ESPN, a video posted on Messi’s Instagram shows the player replacing his normal Argentina jersey with one which features gold numbers, lettering, and outline.
Now, many fans have been reacting to that post to share their thoughts ahead of the South American’s last-ever international fixture.
One fan wrote: “The gold number jersey for the GOAT. Waiting restlessly for the last dance.”
Another claimed: “This shirt will be sold for a trillion dollars.”
A third tweeted: “Gold is special,” followed by clapping and fire emojis.
Another stated: “Messi’s gold kit? Bro, just another flex, no surprise.”

Despite ending his career at international level in early October, Messi will still be competing for Inter Miami as they aim to secure another MLS Cup in the coming months.
