After parting ways with Mitchell Robinson, the New York Knicks immediately had a backup plan. They have signed Andre Drummond on a one-year contract to serve as the backup big man to Karl-Anthony Towns.

As the defending champions, the Knicks will be playing under pressure. Getting a proven veteran like Drummond is a big deal because he will know how to contribute. At the same time, he is also a veteran who is hungry to win a championship, so he would want to prove himself.

Excited to be in a new role, and going back to a place I’m familiar with,” Drummond said to Mika Ortiz after signing with the Knicks.

Drummond is ready to win a championship after a long career. It looks like he is motivated to help the Knicks because he considered plenty of options, but he thinks this is his best chance to win a championship, and he will play a massive role in that.
