Anderson football vs Lockhart live updates: Trojans hope to stay undefeated vs Lions

Anderson’s strong start to the Texas high school football season will be tested Friday against Lockhart, a fellow undefeated team, at Nelson Field.

Lockhart is 3-0, defeating Marble Falls and Leander to start the year and overcoming Lehman this past week. Quarterback Noah Jaimes has thrown for 873 yards and seven touchdowns thus far, but he’s also thrown five interceptions. The Lions lean on three sophomore running backs, Malahki Reese and Denim Ford, while sophomore Demonte Anthony leads the offense in receptions.

Anderson prevailed in a shootout over Pflugerville last Friday, 40-30, led primarily by its passing attack. Quarterback Covert Darbyshire is averaging 358 passing yards and has been primarily targeting wide receiver Kyler Sharp, who is averaging 144.5 receiving yards per game.
