Alleged NDLEA shooting in Kano leaves four injured

Four people are reportedly injured in Kano after officers of the NDLEA allegedly opened fire in an area around the market and the Murtala Muhammad Hospital axis of the city.

Eyewitnesses said the victims include one man and three women, among them a young girl and a married woman.

Local reports indicate that the injured persons were rushed to the emergency unit of the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, where medical personnel are working to extract bullets and stabilise their conditions.

Some accounts suggest the victims were not involved in any confrontation, but were pedestrians and residents seated outside their homes when the incident occurred.

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on what led to the shooting.
