Paramount is currently developing a new Star Trek movie that could establish an entirely different direction for the series. In November 2025, it was reported that John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein had been hired to write, direct, and produce the new installment. The duo previously directed Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and Game Night. They also wrote Spider-Man: Homecoming.
It’s important to note that the upcoming Star Trek movie is being developed independently of the existing movies and TV series. Instead of continuing or recreating another project, the film is supposed to introduce audiences to a new take on the Star Trek universe. It was also revealed that the new project will take place further into the future than its predecessors.
Although several details about the upcoming Star Trek movie have been revealed, there is still a lot of information that remains shrouded in mystery. Paramount has not confirmed an official title, cast, or release date. The project remains in development, and there are currently no publicly known details about when the film will move into production.
