The Los Angeles Rams lived out a nightmare scenario on Monday Night football. LA lost a heartbreaking overtime thriller with Buffalo to fall to 2-3 on the season. One incident that took place after the final whistle could lead to more consequences for one Rams player.
Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson punched Bills defender Bradley Chubb on the field after the game concluded. NFL insider Mike Garafolo reminded fans that Jackson is already facing potential discipline from the NFL.
“Actions on the field, whether they’re pregame, during teh game, postgame are reviewed by the NFL for potential discipline. So that is expected to be the case here for Jackson, who is also still waiting to hear from the league regarding domestic violence charges that he had. He had a pretrial intervention there but the league has yet to act on that. So we’ll see what they decide in this case. In the meantime, waiting to hear from the league on this one.”

The Athletic’s Jonathan Jones confirmed that the league will review Jackson’s punch for potential discipline.
“The NFL will review video of Alaric Jackson’s punch thrown at Bradley Chubb for potential discipline,” Jones wrote on Tuesday. “There’s almost no question punishment of some sort will be handed down, and a one-game suspension cannot be ruled out for Jackson.”
It is impossible to know how Jackson’s domestic violence situation will play into the discipline he receives after Monday’s punch. But it seems reasonable to assume that some type of suspension will come down on Jackson in the near future.
Losing Jackson for any stretch of time would be one more obstacle for LA to overcome. The Rams are spiraling after falling further behind in the NFC West, especially with the 49ers at a perfect 5-0.
Hopefully LA can have a get-right game next week to help get their season back on track before it’s too late.
Next up for the Rams is a Week 6 matchup against the Cardinals.
