AJ Styles names the returning WWE star who has to be world champion next, ‘He is the destroyer!’

AJ Styles might be safely retired from wrestling but he’s still keeping an eye on WWE and has a strong opinion who should be the next main champion.

Going into SummerSlam, WWE’s current two top male champions are Roman Reigns and CM Punk.

Punk will take on Cody Rhodes in what should be a headline stealing main event, while Reigns will be putting 15 years of bad blood on the line against Seth Rollins.

Nevertheless, while those guys continue to be the flag bearers for WWE, former champion Styles believes it’s time for Bron Breakker to be given his turn.

AJ Styles says why Bron Breakker needs to be WWE champion

There can be no argument that WWE have got behind Breakker so far in his career and his injury last year was unfortunate, in terms of timing as well.

However, after racing back to the ring at WrestleMania and still being part of big stories on Monday Night Raw, Breakker remains a big part of WWE TV.

Now, though, AJ Styles believes it’s time to put the belt on him.

“How long are we gonna wait for Bron Breakker to be Heavyweight Champion? He should be next. I think that he’s definitely a star right now. Why we haven’t put it on him to put the rocket up his butt and sent him to the freaking moon? I don’t know why we haven’t done that because he is the destroyer,” Styles said on his own podcast.

“Yeah, well, he had to get a surgery done or he had a hernia or something, but the fact he was out and now he’s back and he’s even scarier than before. Like, let’s go. Let’s freaking do this because we all know that it’s all about the chase. The babyface chasing the heel. Bron Breakker is the heel.

“The Vision’s actually coming back together. They’re healing up and they’re coming back together. So, let’s see what we can do with those guys next. I’m not saying you got to split them up. That’s not what I’m saying. I’m just saying I think I’d like to see Bron as a Heavyweight Champion, but he’s not in a Heavyweight Championship match at SummerSlam.”

For Breakker to be given the belt, it does feel like he’s either going to have become the leader of The Vision and act much like Reigns does with The Bloodline.

The other option is for him to break free of The Vision, and WWE to go all in on him as a solo act, using the likes of Punk, Rollins and Reigns to elevate him further.

There have been suggestions that some in WWE feel he isn’t quite ready. But as Styles says here, there might never be a better time either.
