Aggies open as underdogs in return to Death Valley
Texas A&M was outclassed on Saturday at Kyle Field, suffering a 31-21 defeat to Kentucky. Coming off the loss, for the first time this season, Texas A&M will not be favored heading into a matchup, as the Aggies opened at +7.5 against LSU, per FanDuel. The over / under is set at 53.5 as Texas A&M hopes to bounce back against an LSU squad also coming off a loss.
The Tigers came up short on the road in Lane Kiffin’s return to Oxford as Ole Miss got revenge on Kiffin courtesy of a 32-24 win. As LSU returns home, you can bet this team will have a fire lit under them coming off of the loss. The Aggies currently have a two-game win streak going against LSU, including the first win at Death Valley for Texas A&M since joining the SEC last year.
The Aggies had little success on either side of the ball against Kentucky. Marcel Reed and the struggles of the offense, coupled with multiple explosive passing plays for the Wildcats against Texas A&M’s secondary, allowed Kentucky to control the contest. The Aggies will get run out of Baton Rouge without a drastically better performance against an angry LSU squad.
Let’s see if Mike Elko’s squad can bounce back against the Tigers or if the loss to Kentucky was a sign of things to come.
