AFCON 2027Q: Al-Ittihad congratulate Ilenikhena on maiden Super Eagles’ goal

Saudi club Al-Ittihad have congratulated George Ilenikhena on his maiden goal for the Super Eagles, DAILY POST reports.

Ilenikhena scored on his debut appearance for Nigeria in a 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Barea of Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Friday night.

Kari Eshan gave Madagascar a shock lead from a superb header in the 16th minute.

Ilenikhena restored parity for Nigeria with a composed finish late in the first half.

Al-Ittihad took to social media to celebrate their star striker.

“Congrats to our star George for his role in qualification to the CAF Cup 2027👏🇳🇬,” the club wrote on their X account.

The 20-year-old has registered four goals and two assists in six league appearances for the Tigers this season.
