Adamawa approves N169bn supplementary budget for 2026

The Adamawa State Executive Council has approved a supplementary budget of N169.1 billion for the 2026 fiscal year.

The supplementary budget raises the state’s total 2026 budget to N752.4 billion, following the passage of the N583.3 billion 2026 budget into law in December 2025.

The state government approved the supplementary budget during its meeting in Yola on Thursday.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Leader Leneke, disclosed this while briefing journalists on the outcome of the 16th meeting of the State Executive Council, presided over by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

Leneke said the supplementary budget was necessitated by the state government’s access to additional funds from the Federation, explaining that the funds could not be expended without being captured in the state budget through a supplementary appropriation.

He added that the supplementary budget had been allocated to various ministries, departments and agencies based on the needs of the state.

The council meeting on Thursday also approved a number of major projects covering roads, drainage, healthcare, electricity, education and other sectors.
