AC Milan plans new contracts for Adrien Rabiot and Strahinja Pavlović

AC Milan is preparing to extend the contracts of Adrien Rabiot and Strahinja Pavlović as it works to retain two important members of Ruben Amorim’s squad. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the club wants Rabiot to stay until at least 2030 and is considering a deal through 2031 for Pavlović.

According to Alessandra Gozzini’s report, Gerry Cardinale intends to oversee Rabiot’s negotiations when he returns to Milan in October. The proposed duration and financial terms still need to be settled, with the midfielder’s future among the ownership’s priorities.

Rabiot joined from Marseille in September 2025 on a contract running until June 2028. Gazzetta reports that the existing arrangement includes an option for another season. Extending his stay to 2030 would take the France international through his 35th birthday.

His performances have supplied a clear sporting argument for keeping him. Rabiot scored six goals and added four assists in Serie A last season, making 28 starts. He then contributed a goal and an assist from the bench in Amorim’s opening league victory at Torino.

The midfielder also scored in Sunday’s 3-0 win over Lecce, helping Milan enter the international break unbeaten after five league matches. His continued contribution gives the contract plans substance beyond his experience and reputation.

Pavlović’s proposed extension would carry a larger change in salary. Marco Guidi reports that Milan is considering raising his annual net earnings from around €1.7 million to between €3 million and €3.5 million. Discussions remain preliminary, with no agreement on the figures.

The Serbia defender’s existing deal expires in June 2028, with an option for a further year. He joined from Red Bull Salzburg in 2024 and has become a regular in Milan’s defense, retaining his place through the transition from Massimiliano Allegri to Amorim.

Pavlović and Koni De Winter are the only outfield players to have played every minute of Milan’s season so far. The Serbian has also indicated that he wants to remain at the club despite summer interest from England.

Milan has time to negotiate both renewals, with the current agreements still running into 2028. Cardinale’s planned discussions with Rabiot and the salary negotiations with Pavlović are the next steps before either proposed extension can become a signed contract.
