With a new NFL season right around the corner, appearances from Aaron Rodgers on the “Pat McAfee Show” might once again become commonplace. Monday, though, was arguably his most explosive showing on the podcast yet.

Tackling a wide variety of topics, he reserved his worst vitriol for Dr. Anthony Fauci after the US Senate hearing on the government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. After some choice words were directed at Fauci, the former Chief Medical Advisor’s lawyer fired back at Rodgers.

Aaron Rodgers’ Raging Rant Draws a Response From Dr. Fauci’s Team

Last year, it seemed like the four-time MVP was putting a pause on his appearances on McAfee’s show. It appears that trend is very much alive in what is shaping up to be his final season in the NFL.

His first appearance, though, tackled everything under the sun. From off-field scandals in the NFL to the Senate hearing on Fauci, Rodgers wasn’t backing down from any issue.

His comments drew a direct response from Fauci’s team as well. Through Saad Yousuf of The Athletic, Fauci’s lawyer, David Schertler, sent a stern message:

“Aaron Rodgers doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He should stick to football.”

Fauci’s lawyer’s response seemed to address Rodgers directly. When asked about his mindset for the 2026 season, he immediately responded, “I’m gonna plead the Fifth like that absolute coward, Tony Fauci. Absolute coward.”

Going a step further, he went ballistic on Fauci, given the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, when Rodgers faced a ton of criticism for his stance on the virus and his refusal to follow the necessary precautions and protocols.

“Are you kidding me? You got a pardon, and you pleaded [the Fifth] over 100 times?” Rodgers added. “What are you scared of, Tony? I thought you were the science. I thought you [were], ‘I am science.’ And you get up there, and you can’t answer a question?”

Rodgers, of course, has a bone to pick when it comes to Dr. Fauci. At the height of the pandemic, the four-time MVP admitted he lied about his immunization status and repeatedly violated league protocols, resulting in a $14,650 fine.

At the time, he claimed to have undergone homeopathic treatment against the disease, believing he had done his own research. Now, with Dr. Fauci being put through the wringer, it looks like Rodgers is reveling in his misfortune.

But after his silence at the Senate hearing, Fauci and his team might finally be striking back against those trying to go on the offensive.
