Any Boston Red Sox fans who are making the trip south and were hoping to see one of Major League Baseball’s best players during this weekend’s series against the New York Yankees will be disappointed to hear that Aaron Judge has been ruled out for the entire series.

Judge has missed the last couple of games, seeking second and third opinions from doctors all over the country. 

Some feared the Yankees captain was on pace to miss the remainder of the 2026 season, but a new report implies that Judge could be back on the diamond as soon as late August.

“Aaron Judge has been diagnosed with a stress fracture of the first rib on his right side, the Yankees announced,” Jorge Castillo wrote on X. “He will be reimaged in approximately four to six weeks.”

It’s hard to imagine, but this is good news for several Yankees fans who feared the worst. 

As far as Red Sox fans are concerned, this is good news as well. The reigning AL MVP will not only miss the series starting Friday in the Bronx, but the series at Fenway Park to close out June as well.

Judge has 34 home runs and 74 RBI in his 120 career games played against Boston.
