Linebacker David Bailey gave the Jets a scare at Sautrday’s practice, but it was only a momentary one.
The first-round pick limped off after hurting his ankle during drills and remained on the sideline for the rest of the session. Head coach Aaron Glenn said at a press conference that Bailey’s injury is a minor one.
“He got up after the ankle,” Glenn said. “He’ll be fine.”
The Jets have joint practices with the Buccaneers on Tuesday and Wednesday. Glenn did not say whether Bailey will take part in those sessions during the press conference and left his status as day-to-day.
Safety VJ Payne won’t be on the field for that work. Glenn said the seventh-round pick will miss three or four weeks with a bone bruise.
