There are maybe ten superstar wide receivers in the NFL, and the New England Patriots just traded for one of them.
A.J. Brown coming to New England means so much more than the Patriots getting one of the best athletes on the planet to catch passes from their young quarterback.
This move cements the Patriots as the team to beat in the AFC.
When New England went on a run in 2025 behind head coach Mike Vrabel in his first season at the helm, even Patriots fans were surprised when the team just kept winning. By the time the playoffs rolled around and the Patriots were 14-3, the rest of the NFL world was pointing to the schedule as a crutch.
Then New England won a playoff game. And another one. Then Vrabel hung the AFC Championship banner and earned a trip to the Super Bowl.
When the Patriots lost the Super Bowl, football fans took their victory lap.
