But to make things even better for the Blue Devils, Boumtje-Boumtje is required to spend at least two years in college due to his age, meaning Duke will likely get two years with him unless he were to transfer. In a recent interview, Boumtje-Boumtje spoke about his goals with Duke, displaying both humility and an eagerness to improve. “They (Duke) have a very loaded roster, so I know minutes are tight, but I think that with enough development, I’ll be able to play. I think I’ll be able to push through and play, and then by the time the second year comes, I’ll be able to be a main contributor and hopefully one of the best players in the U.S.”

20 points for Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje today to wrap up the Adidas EuroCamp.

Boumtje-Boumtje went on to say, “I think everything will come into place when it needs to. Whether I’m known in Europe now, whether I’m known in the U.S. now, that’s not going to affect how I play.”

Son of an NBA player (Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje), Joaquim certainly has the measurements, raw talent and experience to develop into one of the best players in the nation over the next two seasons. The stats certainly corroborate this as well, as Boumtje-Boumtje averaged 19 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists on 47.4% shooting from beyond the arc at the recent Adidas NextGen Tournament.
