The One About Matthew Perry
The One About Matthew Perry released earlier this week on Tuesday, October 27, and instantly became one of the most-watched new series on Netflix this week, especially in the United States, where it currently charts as the most popular show heading into the weekend. The 3-part Netflix docuseries examines the life, career, and untimely death of actor Matthew Perry, who is immortalized through his iconic performance as Chandler Bing on the massively successful sitcom Friends.
The One About Matthew Perry received a perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score, indicating that the series has the entertainment value to back up its newfound popularity. Variety writes, “Through friends, family, fellow addicts and former partners, what emerges is a straightforwardly told, crushingly sad story of a man whose talent, humor and success were not enough to overcome a chronic disease.” The One About Matthew Perry is also a hit among viewers, earning a strong 7.8 IMDb score, making this docuseries a must-watch on Netflix this weekend.
A Couple Of Lies
The best new psychological thriller series releasing on Netflix this weekend is A Couple of Lies, which arrives on the platform this Friday, October 30. Based on the best-selling crime book series by Lars Kepler, A Couple of Lies follows two couples who swap houses for a getaway vacation, one in Stockholm and the other in Sicily, only for them to uncover a twisted game of surveillance and manipulation. A Couple of Lies is only four episodes long, meaning it’s very easy to binge-watch in just one night.
A Couple of Lies, or Bytet, falls under the Nordic thriller genre along with other popular Netflix series such as Detective Hole, The Asset, and The Glass Dome. The series is expected to be one of the biggest streaming hits on Netflix this weekend due to its popular source material and its relatively brief runtime. If you’re looking for something to start and finish in one sitting that will keep you on the edge of your seat, A Couple of Lies is the right choice for you.
Nobody Wants This
The best series to binge-watch on Netflix this weekend is Nobody Wants This, which returned with more feel-good cozy rom-com vibes in last week’s season 3 drop. Starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody as a couple that nobody saw coming, Nobody Wants This is currently on Netflix’s U.S. viewership chart and worldwide as well, proving that interest in the show remains strong since its season 3 premiere last Thursday, October 22. Nobody Wants This season 3 earned an 89% Rotten Tomatoes score, improving on season 2’s 80% rating.
Nobody Wants This season 3 begins with Bell’s Joanne and Brody’s Noah crossing a major relationship threshold by moving in together, only to immediately start finding out each other’s intimate, and sometimes annoying, habits at home. Nobody Wants This season 3 is also highly binge-worthy, with 10 episodes that are all 30 minutes or less. If you’re not looking for something spooky-themed this Halloween weekend, then Nobody Wants This is one of the best new shows worth watching right now on Netflix.
