A US firm working for former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has said it will engage the US President, Donald Trump next week over the government of President Bola Tinubu.
The firm, Von Batten Montague York-LC, said this in a post on X on Tuesday, following Trump’s address at the United Nations General Assembly.
The firm said Trump, during his speech, expressed concern over foreign governments that the United States had identified as persecuting Christians, alleging that Nigeria under Tinubu was among those countries.
It alleged that the Tinubu administration was complicit in the killing of Christians across Nigeria and accused the government of also targeting Muslims, including children involved in mining activities to support their families.
“We will engage with the Trump Administration next week to emphasise that President Tinubu’s government is not only complicit in the killing of Christians across Nigeria but is also directly targeting innocent Muslims, including impoverished Muslim children who were mining simply to help feed their families,” the firm said.
It added that it would engage the Trump administration to urge the United States to support free and fair elections in Nigeria.
According to the firm, such elections would enable Nigerians to remove Tinubu from office and elect what it described as responsible leaders.
