2027: Peter Obi engages in endless church tours during elections – Ex-presidential aide

· · 1 min read

Former media aide to the late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, on Tuesday, accused the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, of engaging in “endless church tours” whenever elections are close.

Ahmad described Obi’s action as a political outreach dressed up as religious engagement.

This comes as the former Anambra State governor visited Koinonia Global on Sunday, where he urged Nigerians to pray for politicians to stop stealing.

Obi’s visit to the church has drawn mixed reactions from Nigerians.

An X user @honshield, referring to Bashir Ahmad, wrote: “Peter attended a church service and was invited to speak. Nothing more and nothing less.

“Your good for nothing boss invited 500 clerics to Aso Rock a few days ago and you never uttered a word. Bashir, do you sniff cocaine too?”

Responding, the former presidential aide stated: “The issue isn’t simply that Peter Obi attended a church service or was invited to speak, Henry.

“The real issue is the political calculation behind the pattern and the double standards surrounding it.

“Let’s be honest here whenever an election draws near, we suddenly see Peter Obi on a seemingly endless church tour, week after week.

“If that isn’t political outreach dressed up as religious engagement, then what is?”
