2027: Obi will withdraw if allegation on Anambra debt true – Tanko
The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, has said that the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi will honour his words if it is established that he left debts or financial liabilities behind when he left office.
Tanko stated this on Friday during an interview on Arise TV while responding to questions over the controversy surrounding Obi’s financial record as governor of Anambra State.
During the interview, Tanko was asked whether Obi would step down from the 2027 presidential race if it was proven that he left debts behind.
In response, Tanko said Obi had always stood by his words and would take responsibility if the claims were established.
“My principal has always owned up to his own word anytime, any day,” he said.
