He gave the challenge while speaking with Nigerians in a meeting in Washington, D.C.

Obi declared that he would stop campaigning for the 2027 presidential election if anyone could establish that 1% of the funds he managed as governor was misappropriated.

He said, “I was Governor of Anambra State for eight years and received about half a trillion naira.

“If you can trace where 1% of it was misappropriated, I will stop campaigning. I won’t say anything again concerning the 2027 presidential election.”

The declaration comes shortly after Anambra State government stated that the current administration was still servicing loans and liabilities inherited from previous governments, including Obi’s administration.
