Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the 2027 Martingale Scholarship, applicants must generally meet the following requirements:
- Come from a low-socioeconomic or financially disadvantaged background.
- Demonstrate strong academic potential and an interest in postgraduate research.
- Have achieved, or be on track to achieve, at least a First Class or Upper Second Class degree, or its equivalent.
- Be eligible to begin a Master’s or PhD programme at a participating UK university from September 2027.
- Qualify for Home Fee status at the relevant partner university.
- Have attended school in the UK or Ireland for the required period stated by the programme.
- Have completed GCSEs or an equivalent qualification through a state-funded school, or received substantial financial support to attend a fee-paying school.
- Demonstrate financial need, including a household income of £45,000 or below.
