2 Panthers starters remain sidelined for Thursday's practice

The Carolina Panthers‘ avalanche of injuries felt a little lighter on Thursday.

As opposed to yesterday’s walk-through, where seven players were estimated as non-participants, just two were held out of this afternoon’s practice. The session saw the returns of running back Chuba Hubbard, wide receiver Jalen Coker, tight end Darren Waller, right tackle Monroe Freeling and outside linebacker Princely Umanmielen.

They would not be joined back on the field by starting left guard Damien Lewis, who was listed as a non-participant for the second straight day. Lewis is expected to miss this weekend’s matchup against the Detroit Lions with a UCL injury.

Wideout Xavier Legette also remained sidelined with a knee injury.
