Two Indianapolis Colts starters were non-participants in Wednesday’s Week 5 practice.
Center Tanor Bortolini (ankle) and linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither (knee) were sidelined.
Bortolini has played a key role in the Colts‘ run game success this season. The backup center is Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, whom the Colts acquired in a trade before the season from Buffalo.
Davis-Gaither fills the all-important MIKE linebacker role on defense. His backup is rookie CJ Allen.

Back at practice on Wednesday was wide receiver Keenan Allen (groin). He did not play against the Commanders. The Colts also opened the practice window for tight end Will Mallory (thumb).
Ashton Dulin (hamstring), Arden Key (hamstring), and Jaylon Carlies (ribs) were non-participants. Shane Steichen has already said that Key will “miss some time.”
Jonathan Taylor and Charvarius Ward had rest days.
