10 lowest-graded FSU players from Week 3 loss to Alabama

Florida State‘s 50-36 loss to the No. 8 Alabama Crimson Tide exposed problems in several areas, and Pro Football Focus’ postgame grades reflected those struggles. The Seminoles surrendered 567 total yards, including 247 on the ground, while Alabama erased an early 21-6 FSU lead and scored 44 points over the final three quarters.

PFF’s lowest overall grades were spread between the offense and defense, with several Florida State players receiving marks below 50.0. Here are the 10 lowest-graded Seminoles from the loss, according to PFF’s Week 3 reports.

Graham rounded out the bottom 10 with a 51.8 overall defensive grade in 35 snaps. His 81.8 tackling grade was a notable bright spot, but his coverage and pass-rush marks finished at 51.7 and 55.2, respectively.

Diggs finished with a 50.5 defensive grade across 40 snaps. His strongest individual mark was a 71.1 tackling grade, while PFF graded his run defense at 51.2 and pass rush at 53.0.

Bowling was on the field for all 67 offensive snaps and earned a 49.9 overall grade. His pass-blocking grade came in at 27.7, while he received a 52.1 mark as a run blocker.

Anderson received a 49.6 defensive grade over 43 snaps. PFF graded him at 58.2 as a pass rusher, but his 23.7 tackling mark was among the lowest on the defense.

Richard led Florida State with a career-high 12 tackles, but PFF evaluated his overall performance at 48.9 across 59 snaps. His tackling grade was 62.1, while his run-defense mark finished at 36.3.

Jones played 43 defensive snaps and received a 48.7 overall grade. His lowest individual marks came against the run at 35.5 and as a tackler at 21.7.

Riles finished with a 46.6 overall offensive grade on 34 snaps. PFF gave him a 51.6 receiving mark, but his 29.7 pass-blocking grade brought down his overall evaluation.

Gbayor earned a 44.5 defensive grade over 33 snaps. His marks included 58.6 against the run, 51.5 in tackling and 42.6 in coverage.

Chaplin played all 67 offensive snaps and finished with a 36.6 overall grade. His biggest issue came in pass protection, where PFF graded him at 20.8, compared with a 62.9 run-blocking mark.

Barker received Florida State’s lowest overall grade at 30.0 across 51 defensive snaps. PFF gave him a 34.3 run-defense grade, 26.0 tackling grade, and a 33.6 coverage grade.
