Zac Veen named PCL Player of the Week
Colorado Rockies top outfield prospect Zac Veen (no. 9 PuRP) has been named Pacific Coast League Player of the Week for the week of August 3rd through August 9th. This marks the second straight week Veen has claimed the award—the third time this season—and is the fifth time in his career he has been named a weekly Player of the Month.

Veen, 24, has been red hot with the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes this season, and continued his tear last week in a six-game set against the Sugar Land Space Cowboys (Houston Astros). He went 11-for-23 with two doubles, a triple, four home runs, and ten total RBIs.
The 2020 first round pick’s standout performance of the week came on Saturday, August 9th. Veen went a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate with three home runs—two of which were multi-run home runs—a triple, a double, and seven RBIs. He was just a single away from the cycle and his 17 total bases is a new franchise record for the Isotopes.
Veen is currently hitting .327/.402/.635 and leads the Pacific Coast League in both slugging percentage and OPS (1.037) in 100 games and just under 400 at-bats.
