Quinn Cook came to Duke after a knee injury, and it took him a little while to regain his high school form.

Then in his senior season, Cook did something pretty rare and highly impressive: he accepted freshman Tyus Jones taking over his natural position, point guard.

Not only did he accept it, but he put the success of the team first and became a valuable mentor to Jones.

The result?

Duke won the 2015 national championship, Jones was the MOP, and Cook endeared himself to the fan base like few others.

He has been a marginal player as a professional, but he has more rings (two) than any other former Blue Devil other than Shane Battier, who also has two.

In this tape from his Oak Hill days, you can see Cook’s point guard instincts. He makes some absolutely beautiful passes here, and as you may have noticed, we see passing as the greatest basketball skill of all.

Just look at how advanced he is here. It’s insanely impressive.
