Celebrity fashion designer, Veekee James has defended her decision to appear frequently with her husband, Femi Atere, dismissing criticism from a social media user who questioned why he accompanies her to public events.

Veekee made the remarks in a video shared on her social media page while responding to a troll who suggested that her husband did not have “a life of his own” because he was always seen with her.

Reacting to the criticism, the fashion entrepreneur insisted that marriage meant sharing life together, adding that both she and her husband had chosen to build their lives around each other.

“Yes, my husband does not have a life of his own. His life is my life, the same way I don’t have a life of my own.

“My life is his life. He is me and I am him. Together we are like padlock and key,” she said.

Veekee argued that critics questioning their relationship did not understand what marriage entails.

“When you marry your own, separate him. When you marry your own, remove him from your life and keep him somewhere else.

“You don’t know what marriage is. His life is mine, my life is his. Everything he is, is mine,” she added.

She maintained that marriage meant both partners sharing every aspect of their lives rather than living separately.

The designer further declared that she and her husband would continue attending events together regardless of public criticism.

“You’ve not seen anything. You will see me and my husband anywhere possible, everywhere possible, you will see us,” she said.

She concluded the video by playfully referring to her husband as her “personal handbag” while showing clips of them together.
