‘You will forever be Ogogo to us’ — Femi Adebayo mourns Taiwo Hassan

Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo has mourned the passing of veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, describing him as a pillar of Yoruba cinema.

Femi paid tribute to the veteran actor in a post shared on his Instagram account, reflecting on Ogogo’s years in the Nigerian film industry and the lasting impact of his work.

He described the late actor as someone whose contribution to Yoruba cinema would continue to be remembered by generations of actors, filmmakers and movie lovers.

Femi wrote: “You were a true pillar of Yoruba cinema, and your impact will live on in generations to come.”

The actor also expressed appreciation for the memories, stories and lessons Ogogo left behind through his career and his contribution to the craft.

He said Ogogo’s work had helped make people fall in love with Yoruba cinema, while describing him as a figure whose legacy would endure beyond his time.

He ended his tribute with a farewell to the veteran actor, saying: “Rest well, Sir Taiwo Hassan. You will forever be Ogogo to us. Adieu, legend.”
