Years later, Omar Richards earns Bayern Munich some cash

It was only back in 2021 that Bayern Munich signed English left-back Omar Richards from Reading on a free transfer (coincidentally, at the same time that Michael Olise was at the Championship side). The hope was that Richards could prove to be an effective back up for Alphonso Davies, but this did not prove to be the case. After a fruitless year in Munich, Richards was offloaded back to England in 2022, joining Nottinham Forest for around €9 million.

At Forest, Richards suffered extreme misfortune and was diagnosed with a major hairline fracture in his leg after his very first training session. This injury kept him out for the entire season and Forest would not give him another chance once he regained fitness in 2023, as the dynamic full back was banished out on loan to Olympiacos in Greece and Rio Ave in Portugal in the 3 years since. Finally, he was sold to Greece club Aris Thessaloniki this past summer.

As it turns out, though, this move provided a small financial boon for Bayern. @iMiaSanMia_GER captures the news:
