Yaxel Lendeborg leads Warriors to 2026 NBA Summer League title

· · 1 min read

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 94-90, winning their second NBA Summer League championship and their first since Draymond Green lifted the trophy in 2013. Once again it was Yaxel Lendeborg who led the way, scoring 21 points and getting revenge on No. 3 overall pick Cameron Boozer, who had defeated him once with Duke and again with Memphis. Lendeborg also racked up 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals, earning championship game MVP honors in the process.

Deivon Smith was impressive off the bench, scoring 21 points on 9-for-14 shooting to go along with nine rebounds and three assists. Only three other team members finished in double figures, all of whom played NBA minutes for Golden State last year: Will Richard (13 points), LJ Cryer (15 points) and Malevy Leons (10 points).

Now with summer league complete, Lendeborg and the Warriors will prepare for preseason play ahead of a season opener in October.
