Yashasvi Jaiswal misses ODI squad despite century as Kohli returns for England series

Mumbai : Yashasvi Jaiswal missed out on India’s squad for next month’s three-match ODI series in England despite scoring an unbeaten 110 against Afghanistan in the third ODI on Saturday. It was the opener’s second century in just six ODIs, but the return of Virat Kohli left no room for him in the 15-man squad.

Jasprit Bumrah also returns to the ODI setup after being rested for the one-off Test, the home ODI series vs Afghanistan and the T20I assignments in England and Ireland as part of the BCCI’s workload-management plan. The premier pacer replaces Prince Yadav and is set to play his first ODI since the 2023 World Cup final.

Meanwhile, Varun Chakravarthy has been ruled out of the T20Is in Ireland as he continues to recover from a foot injury.
