Xbox Game Pass Officially Makes 6 Hit Games Completely Free Until November 1
Xbox Game Pass has become one of Microsoft’s biggest draws for gamers, offering subscribers access to an enormous rotating library of games across Xbox consoles, PC, and supported cloud gaming devices. Depending on their subscription tier, players can also enjoy major day-one releases, online multiplayer, exclusive discounts, and additional benefits like EA Play.
With new titles arriving throughout the month, there’s almost always something worth checking out without having to pay full price for another game. One of the service’s more overlooked benefits, however, is Xbox Free Play Days, which gives players an opportunity to try a selection of games for a limited time, typically over a single weekend.
While some offers require an eligible Game Pass subscription, others are available to everyone, and participating games are often discounted for anyone interested in keeping them permanently. This weekend, there are seven new free games available until November 1.

Included in this weekend’s lineup of free games on Xbox are multiple hit titles, including one of the best soulslikes of 2025. Here are the six games you can claim:
- Darkwood
- Dead By Daylight
- Everspace 2
- Football Manager 27
- Spirittea
- Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
Of the six games, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is arguably the biggest attraction, particularly for fans of challenging soulslike RPGs such as Elden Ring and Dark Souls. Released earlier this year, the game takes players to a dark fantasy version of China’s late Ming dynasty, where a mysterious illness has unleashed terrifying creatures across the land. With its punishing combat, intimidating bosses, and atmospheric world, it’s an excellent opportunity to try one of 2025’s biggest soulslike releases without paying full price (via Pure Xbox).
For horror fans, Darkwood and Dead by Daylight are fitting additions for Halloween weekend. Darkwood is a genuinely terrifying survival horror experience that challenges players to explore a nightmarish forest, scavenge resources, and survive increasingly dangerous nights. Meanwhile, Dead by Daylight offers its signature asymmetrical multiplayer experience, pitting four survivors against a relentless killer. The latter is also celebrating Halloween with its Haunted by Daylight event.
Everspace 2 offers something completely different, combining fast-paced spaceship combat with RPG mechanics, exploration, and an addictive loot system. Players can explore beautifully designed star systems, upgrade their ships, and uncover secrets throughout a sprawling science fiction adventure.
For something considerably more relaxing, Spirittea is a cozy life simulation game that shares some similarities with Stardew Valley and Spirited Away. Players manage a bathhouse for supernatural visitors while befriending townspeople, exploring their surroundings, and helping troublesome spirits.
Finally, Football Manager 27 is offering a separate five-day free PC preview ahead of its November launch. The latest installment lets players manage their favorite football clubs, oversee transfers, develop tactical strategies, and attempt to lead their teams to glory.
Four of these games require an Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate subscription, with their Free Play Days access ending November 1. Dead by Daylight is available without a subscription until November 2, while Football Manager 27 remains free to try on PC until November 3.
Players interested in purchasing the games permanently can also take advantage of limited-time discounts, including 80% off Everspace 2, 50% off Spirittea, and 30% off Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. These free titles on Xbox Game Pass have a little something for everyone and are well worth checking out over the weekend.
