British broadcaster, Piers Morgan has hit out at the Argentine players for their unsportsmanlike conduct following their defeat to Spain in the final on Sunday.

La Albiceleste’s aspirations of winning a consecutive World Cup were thwarted as they lost 1-0 in extra time to the European champions.

After the final whistle, the cameras captured a scuffle involving players from both teams, notably Leandro Paredes and Gavi.

The Argentine player initially shoved Eric Garcia before turning to Gavi and forcefully pushing the Spanish midfielder to the ground.

This incident led to a brawl between players and staff from both sides as they attempted to defuse the situation.

In response to the unsightly scenes at the New York New Jersey Stadium, Piers Morgan criticized the Argentine players on X, labeling their behavior as ‘disgusting’ and expressing his satisfaction at their loss.

“Disgusting behaviour by the Argentinians at the end, especially Paredes. Just a bunch of nasty violent thugs, and a disgrace to football. Never been so happy to see a team lose,” Morgan posted on X.

The 2026 final witnessed La Furia Roja outperforming an Argentine team that was excessively physical throughout the match. The center referee, Slavko Vincic, issued seven yellow cards and one red card during the game, all directed at Argentina.

Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez received his marching orders in the second half’s stoppage time for two bookable offenses, leaving La Albiceleste to compete with a man down in extra time.
