World Cup: Marmoush and Singh start as Egypt and New Zealand aim to top Group G
Egypt and New Zealand lock horns in the fourth game from Group G at the 2026 World Cup. All the first three encounters ended in draws, including Belgium forced to another frustrating goalless draw by Iran a few hours ago.
Before the final matchday games, Egypt and New Zealand have a chance to be the outright leaders with three points in Vancouver. Former VfB Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush, who lived for six years in Canada, starts for Hossam Hassan’s team up front.
On the other side, Sarpreet Singh, who won 3. Liga with Bayern II before his lengthy spell in 2. Bundesliga with three clubs, starts for New Zealand. The All Blacks yet to win a game at this stage, but all their last four games ended in draws, including the 2-2 scoreline with Iran last week.
