World Cup 2026: Two countries eliminated from Round of 16

Two countries, Canada and Paraguay, have been eliminated from the World Cup Round of 16 stage.

This follows the conclusion of Saturday’s World Cup Round of 32 fixtures.

Canada lost 3-0 against Morocco at Houston Stadium to exit the tournament.

A brace from Azzedine Ounahi and a goal from Soufiane Rahimi gave the North Africans the win against the co-host nation.

Paraguay, on the other hand, lost 1-0 against France to exit the competition.

Kylian Mbappe’s penalty in the second half ensured France defeated Paraguay to qualify for the quarter-finals.

France will now face Morocco in the quarter-final stage on Thursday.
