World Cup 2026: Nine coaches lost jobs after elimination [FULL LIST]

At least nine coaches have lost their jobs after their teams’ elimination at the ongoing FIFA World Cup.

DAILY POST reports that Croatia head coach, Zlatko Dalic, is the latest manager to step down from the role.

Dalic’s departure is coming after Croatia’s recent 2-1 defeat to Portugal in the World Cup Round of 32.

The Croatian Football Federation disclosed in a statement on Wednesday that the 59-year-old has decided to part ways with the team.

“Following nearly nine years, head coach Zlatko Dalic has decided to close his incredibly successful chapter with Croatia,” the statement partly read.

Dalic’s departure from the Croatia national team followed Roberto Martinez’s stepping down as Portugal coach on Monday.

The other seven coaches who lost their jobs after their teams’ elimination from the World Cup are Carlos Queiroz (Ghana), Julian Nagelsmann (Germany), Sebastian Beccacece (Ecuador), Ronald Koeman (Netherlands), Miroslav Koubek (Czechia), Steve Clarke (Scotland), and Hong Myung-bo(South Korea).
