World Cup 2026: 8 countries eliminated from tournament

Czechia and Qatar have become the latest teams to be eliminated from the World Cup tournament.

They have been sent packing after losing their final group game matches against Mexico and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Mexico defeated Czechia 3-0 today, while Bosnia and Herzegovina beat Qatar 3-1 yesterday.

Czechia and Qatar now join the likes of Uzbekistan, Panama, Haiti, Turkey, Jordan and Tunisia in exiting the tournament.

DAILY POST reports that in this expanded World Cup tournament, the eight best teams that finish third in their group will also progress to the Round of 32.

More final group game matches will be played later today, and more countries are expected to be eliminated from the tournament.
