Wonderkid confirms he wants to join Andoni Iraola's Liverpool
An exciting wonderkid has confirmed he wants to join Andoni Iraola’s first-team squad at Liverpool.
One of the major factors as to why Arne Slot was dismissed from his role at the club is because of his lack of willingness to work with younger players.
The way Liverpool operate is by wanting to promote their younger players and develop players. The Reds don’t just buy superstars, they make them.
Jurgen Klopp did that with great precision over the course of his time at Liverpool. He was regularly dipping into the academy and bringing players through.
These players either became key players for the first-team or, they were sold for major profit. It created the perfect conditions for Liverpool to succeed on and off the pitch.
Slot was incapable of doing that.
Liverpool building exciting team for the future under Iraola
Iraola on the other hand is very open to the idea of playing younger players. He’s already integrated Rio Ngumoha and given Trey Nyoni a much more prominent role.
He’s also made Jeremy Jacquet into a starter without much qualms.
But most importantly, he’s also been very keen on promoting Lewis Koumas to the first-team. In pre-season he immediately spotted the Welshman was perfect for his style of football and he brought him through.
Now, Iraola has thrown him in at the deep end against the likes of Man City and in the Champions League and Koumas is delivering. He scored and assisted in his last game against LASK, and is growing in confidence.
Consider the fact that the Reds have players like Ifeanyi Ndukwe, Mor Talla Ndiaye, Samuel Martinez, Erik Farkas, Joshua Abe and Djylian N’Guessan coming through – Iraola’s openess to working with younger players bodes really well for them.
Forward confirms he wants to join the first-team
There are other young players looking up to Koumas right now and wanting to get in on in the action. Younger players will become instantly more motivated and hungry when they can see that there are opportunities available to them.
Koumas’ example is only going to inspire others.
And one of those players who will be determined to make an impact is Will Wright.
He has 11 goal contributions in his first nine games of the season averaging a goal or assist every 65 minutes on the pitch.
Now speaking to Liverpool’s official website he confirmed that he is very much hoping to join the first-team.
“My motivation is purely to get into the first team, to get in and around training and learn off some of the likes of [Alexander] Isak and Hugo [Ekitike],” Wright said.
