The incident was contained in a post shared on X on Monday by security analyst, Zagazola Makama.

According to the post, troops of Sector 8, Sub-Sector 81, deployed in Gyambwas, responded to reports of sporadic gunfire around the Gimti Galadima, Kobodon and Kaduno areas at about 3:25 p.m. on Sunday.

“The troops immediately engaged the attackers in a gun battle, forcing them to retreat toward Kugot village in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.

“The attack caused panic in the affected communities, with many Fulani women and children crossing a river to Langai in search of safety,” added.

According to the sources, the troops used superior firepower to stop the attack and prevent further destruction of the communities.

No soldier was killed or injured during the operation.

The sources added that troops have continued to carry out aggressive patrols in the area to prevent another attack and reassure residents of their safety.
