Wisconsin Windigo to play Minnesota Mallards in Fond du Lac
FOND DU LAC – The Wisconsin Windigo will play an exhibition game against the Minnesota Mallards on Aug. 28 at Blue Line Family Ice Center in Fond du Lac, with proceeds supporting the Fond du Lac Youth Hockey Association.
The game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. puck drop and is intended to raise money for local youth hockey programs, according to a community announcement.
The North American Hockey League team said several fundraising activities will benefit the association. The group will receive $3 from every ticket sold, 100% of Chuck-a-Puck sales between the second and third periods, 75% of 50/50 raffle proceeds and 50% of silent auction proceeds.
Items planned for the silent auction include custom co-branded Windigo and Fond du Lac Thunder youth hockey jerseys, Windigo merchandise, signed sticks and other memorabilia.
The exhibition game will also feature opportunities for youth hockey players to participate in on-ice and in-game activities.
Six Fond du Lac Youth Hockey players will be selected for the starting lineup experience. Three youth players will announce the starting lineup after warmups from the dressing room.
A local U6 or U8 team also is scheduled to play a six-minute mini-game following the first period.
