‘Will Trent’ Will Officially Return in 2027
Of all the shows that have blossomed into popular properties in the last few years, not many have picked up as many viewers as The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix. Fans love a good legal thriller, and The Lincoln Lawyer provides enough classic courtroom drama mixed with the hunt for criminals to keep fans tuning in year after year as new seasons continue to be released. Netflix released the fourth season of The Lincoln Lawyer earlier this year, and after renewing the show for Season 5, the streamer later confirmed that it would also be the final season. The Lincoln Lawyer now has some competition on Netflix in the form of Will Trent — all four seasons of the show were added to the platform last week, and they have since surged into the top 10.
ABC has released four seasons of Will Trent since the show premiered in 2023, but it’s quickly approaching a full year since the Season 4 premiere. The show isn’t a carbon copy of The Lincoln Lawyer by any means, but it will still scratch the same itch for fans craving a good procedural with plenty of courtroom action. Will Trent has already wrapped filming on its next season, and while it’s not going to make it back to ABC before the end of this year, fans won’t have to wait too long for Season 5. While still without an official return date, it has been confirmed that Will Trent Season 5 is coming to ABC in 2027. If the release of Season 4 is any indication, it wouldn’t be surprising if the show returns sooner in the year, rather than later.

Here’s Where Else You Can Watch ‘Will Trent’
Not only are the first four seasons of Will Trent streaming on Netflix, but they’re also available to watch on Hulu, along with all other ABC shows. However, Hulu is only available in America, so fans of Will Trent in international markets will have to check out the first four seasons of the show on Disney Plus. It’s expected that Disney Plus and Hulu will merge into one service sometime in the next year or two, but Disney has not yet announced when this could happen — fans would certainly enjoy a cheaper service, though.
Check out the first four seasons of Will Trent on either Netflix or Hulu and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of Season 5.
