The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has expressed optimism that several ongoing projects would be ready for inauguration to celebrate President Bola Tinubu’s third anniversary.

He gave the assurance after inspecting some ongoing infrastructure projects across the FCT on Monday.

He visited key project sites, including the access road to Karsana Renewed Hope Estate, the access road to the Body of Benchers area, and the Tungan Madaki to Zuba road axis.

He explained that the inspection serves as final push to ensure that the infrastructure deliverables promised under the Renewed Hope Agenda were ready for inauguration.

He said that “with asphalt being laid and streetlights installed, the FCT Administration appears on track to present a transformed landscape to Tinubu.”

Declaring FCT a “construction hub”, Wike highlighted the rapid progress made by various contractors, noting that many projects were now in their final stages of completion.

On the access road to Karsana Renewed Hope Estate, the minister said the road was nearly completed, with only about 500 metres of asphalt remaining.

He added that the contractor committed to installing streetlights by the end of the month.

Wike also expressed satisfaction with the completed access road to the Body of Benchers area, adding that the contractor had promised to complete installation of streetlights in the next 10 days.

On the access road to Tungan Madaki from Bill Clinton Drive, he commended the pace of the project, particularly the completed bridge.

He noted that “work has already commenced on the additional stretch toward Zuba as previously directed.”

Wike attributed the success of the projects to the selection of high-caliber contractors and the dedication of the technical teams on the ground.

“We are very happy with what we have seen on ground – quality jobs done by very good contractors.

“All these will be part of projects to be inaugurated by Mr President to celebrate his third anniversary,” he said.
