Why There's No Tracker Tonight (November 8) & When New Episodes Release

· · 4 min read

Tracker has become a staple of Sunday evening on CBS, but it is not part of today’s lineup on the Eye Network. Ever since its series premiere after Super Bowl LVIII, which was watched by 18.4 million viewers thanks to the sports event, Tracker has dominated Sunday evenings. After their successful pairing in the previous TV season, Marshals and Tracker continued to share contiguous Sunday evening slots on CBS during the 2026-2027 TV cycle, which proved once again lucrative after both dramas ended up the most watched, in first and second position respectively, among network and streaming during premiere week.

Tracker season 4’s episodes 1 to 5 saw a return to its procedural roots, with a keen focus on weekly cases and only brief nods to overarching narratives like Russell’s lies and the massive consequences they can have whenever Colter discovers McIntyre’s secret dossier about him, especially considering Reenie’s partial involvement. Tracker season 4, episode 5 ending with the Shaw brothers completely in sync when it’s a matter of life and death left a bitter aftertaste in light of Russell’s complete avoidance of Colter, especially as Colter evidently noticed a difference but didn’t push.

Even if it’s unlikely that Tracker season 4 will bring any kind of resolution to Colter and Russell’s problems soon, it could have continued raising Colter’s suspicions as Russell ignoring him did in Tracker season 4, episode 2. However, that won’t happen today, as there are no new episodes of Tracker season 4 airing tonight.

CBS Is Pulling Tracker From Its Sunday Line-Up

Tracker season 4, episode 6 won’t return tonight at 9:30 pm ET, with CBS entirely changing its lineup for Sunday, November 8, 2026. CBS didn’t announce why its regular evening programming changed entirely for today, although the Eye Network already had to implement some changes to its scheduling this past week to make space for election coverage on Tuesday.

However, the reasoning behind that choice may lie in what takes over Sunday evening’s usual schedule tonight. Cupertino airs a new episode tonight at 8 pm in a special broadcast, as season 1, episode 5 aired last Friday per its usual programming. The evening will continue with reruns of Cupertino season 1, episodes 1 and 2, at 9 pm and 10 pm, respectively, effectively showcasing CBS’s new legal drama for the entire evening.

The focus on Cupertino makes sense based on its status as a completely original TV show for the Eye Network, one that can’t rely on the support of a franchise. That’s even more important considering that CBS reduced the episode number of successful TV series the likes of NCIS: Origins and Fire Country to spotlight its new shows, among which is Cupertino, due to the number of TV shows on CBS in the 2026-2027 TV cycle being much larger than in the past.

It’s unknown whether a push to showcase Cupertino is behind Tracker season 4’s mini-hiatus, or whether that has to do with Tracker‘s earlier return from summer break at the beginning of October, or something else entirely. Still, it forces more time to pass between Tracker season 4, episodes 5 and 6, even if the break is relatively small.

Tracker season 4, episode 6, “Blind Spot,” will air on CBS on Sunday, November 15, 2026, exactly one week from today. The episode is set to focus on a new case of the week, this time brought to Colter by Reenie, as the client in question is a mentor for the lawyer. You can read the synopsis for the episode below:

When Reenie enlists Colter’s help to locate her mentor’s estranged daughter, the search uncovers a dangerous conspiracy.

When Reenie enlists Colter’s help to locate her mentor’s estranged daughter, the search uncovers a dangerous conspiracy.

The relationship between Reenie and her mentor, coupled with the nature of the case, given how the mentor’s estranged daughter didn’t get in touch with Colter’s client for years, all point to the case being extremely consequential and potentially very dangerous. This makes it unlikely for Tracker season 4, episode 6 to cover any other overarching story, effectively leaving the continuation of Russell and Colter’s mystery to another time.
