Lexie Brown wasn’t quite able to catch on with the Seattle Storm.

They traded for Brown in 2025, but in 34 games with the Storm over two seasons, she averaged just 3.8 points per game.

In the end, that wasn’t good enough to keep her around.

The Storm announced on Monday that they are waiving Brown.

Why are the Storm getting rid of Lexie Brown?

Brown hasn’t contributed enough to Seattle this season for her to retain a roster spot.

It’s not immediately clear what the Storm plan to do with the opening, but they must’ve felt Brown didn’t have enough upside to retain.

Brown did miss the last two Seattle games, listed not with an injury but as “Not With Team,” so there may be something more going on in Brown’s life.

The Storm have lost five games in a row and are now 3-9, which might be another thing that sparked the change.

What’s next for Lexie Brown?

Brown goes on waivers now, where another team could claim her.

If she goes unclaimed, she’ll become a free agent.

Brown still likely can stick around a WNBA roster, but it’s not yet clear what her next step will be.
