Why is Tom Brady having a fake feud with Logan Paul?

· · 2 min read

Tom Brady is a seven-time Super Bowl champion. He’s going to be a Hall of Famer. He makes so much money as Fox’s lead NFL analyst despite being average at broadcasting. He doesn’t need more money.

And he absolutely should be above a manufactured feud with YouTuber/wrestler/boxer Logan Paul. Yet, Brady seems to be all into a fake beef, and that took several turns this weekend.

A couple days before the World Cup final, Brady slapped Paul at Fanatics Fan Fest 2026. It was obviously an act even though the two have somewhat of a history.

But come Sunday, Brady had another public “confrontation” with Paul. (NSFW gesture in the video)

Brady — who was attending the World Cup final at MetLife Stadium with his son — was seen flipping off Paul in a staged video. Paul responded by also showing his middle finger to Brady and holding the gesture before Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin kind of, sort of urged Paul to sit back down.

It’s such weird behavior from Brady. And again, none of it is genuine.

It seems off for a sports legend like Brady to engage in a cheap publicity stunt. And according to The Athletic, this all seems to point to some kind of WWE showdown between Brady and Paul.

Brady publicly asked for a WWE invite just a day before slapping Paul. Via The Athletic:

“I need to get an invite,” Brady said. “I’ve been waiting for (president of WWE) Nick Khan to come up with some storyline for me to get in the mix. I feel like I’m retired from football, have an opportunity to go out there and still showcase that I’m a little bit of an athlete.”

Brady said he’s seen his longtime NFL teammate Rob Gronkowski do it, as well as Paul, and believes he could “get in there for at least one match.”

“Come on, Nick,” Brady said. “Come on, make it happen.”

Brady’s hope looks to be generating the appearance of animosity in order to promote a potential matchup with Paul.

Still, it’s just all so bizarre. Someone needs to remind him that he’s Tom Brady. Right now, he’s becoming a punchline.
