SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — Are you ready for some Footy?

That’s the question WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood wants to ask you.

It’s the question that comes up in Slidell. Out here, the field is green and the football is red.

“It makes it easy to see in the day,” said Mike.

It’s a game from down under called Aussie Rules. The team is the Bayou Brawlers with Will Mussack as coach, player and fan.

He wants you to join them as a fan and as a player.

You should know there’s only one way to score out here and that’s with a field goal.

It’s a six-point possibility.

The team says it’s like basketball, football and soccer all together in one and you are only allowed to hit people above the knee and below the neck.

Guys and girls play together.
