Why a Ukrainian mobile air defense unit isn't ready to give up its nearly century-old machine gun

· · 1 min read
  • Ukrainian mobile air defense groups are learning to operate new, high-tech interceptor drones.
  • The crews have historically used .50 caliber M2 Browning machine guns to battle Russian drones.
  • Even with new weapons, they aren’t quite ready to say goodbye to the aging guns.

“We always try to master every new technology we get,” Oleksiy shared. “At first, it was regular FPV drones, then interceptor drones. We believe the more technologically advanced we are, the better our chances of victory.”
