Who Victor Wembanyama and NBA stars predicted would win WNBA MVP
A’ja Wilson has already been crowned the 2026 WNBA MVP, but it’s interesting to take a look at the prediction of NBA stars.
Before A’ja Wilson officially claimed her historic fifth WNBA MVP title, the 2026 race was stacked with narratives across the league.
Minnesota’s rookie sensation Olivia Miles made a massive push alongside Indiana’s high-powered backcourt of Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark, while Breanna Stewart kept New York right in the mix.
Yet Wilson stood completely above the pack. She captured her third straight scoring title with 26.2 points per game while pulling down 9.4 rebounds and a league-leading 1.9 blocks per game.
A’ja Wilson was a clear favourite for WNBA MVP
Long before the WNBA season even tipped off, NBA stars like Victor Wembanyama, Jalen Brunson, and Alex Caruso were already calling it.
Plyrsuntd shared the predictions on their TikTok account.
Asked for their preseason MVP picks, they didn’t hesitate to back A’ja Wilson, calling her the most complete player in the game and locking in her dominance well before the games even started.
Caruso: “I think A’ja Wilson could win MVP every year if she wanted to.”
Fred VanVleet: “Somebody show me something else, I don’t see nobody coming close.”
A’ja Wilson swept the voting in resounding fashion, taking home 51 of the 67 first-place votes.
