Where to watch Tarik Skubal make return for Tigers vs Guardians today

· · 1 min read

The back-to-back reigning American League Cy Young winner will make his first start for the Detroit Tigers since April 29, after recovering from surgery to remove a bone chip in his left elbow.

Now, less than six weeks out from surgery, Skubal will start against the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday, June 13, at 4:10 p.m. on Detroit SportsNet. Fellow left-hander Joey Cantillo, who has a 4-3 record and 4.57 ERA this year, will start for the Guardians.

It’s a good matchup for Skubal to come back to, both because the Guardians are a team the Tigers are chasing in the AL Central and because Skubal pitches really well against the Guards.

In his career, Skubal has a 4-4 record and just a 2.39 ERA along with 112 strikeouts in 15 appearances against the Guardians, including the playoffs.

Skubal will be looking to continue that form in his first outing back from injury as the Tigers try to keep the strong start to June going with some reinforcements on the way.
